THE Mayor of Daventry found out the views of people in the town when he held his first street surgery.
Peter Harper walked around the town centre with fellow town councillors at the end of last month to talk to people about the town and to get their opinions on the future of Daventry.

Cllr Harper said: “It has been quite interesting talking to people and finding out why they come to do their shopping in Daventry and where they have come from to do it. These street surgeries are designed for people to come and talk to us about what they want and we have had a lot of people coming to us to talk about the type of things they would like to see in the town.”

Cllr Harper plans to hold a street surgery on the last Friday of each month with the next one due to take place next week in the town centre.

There are also future plans to take the street surgeries to the estates in Daventry.
