A DAVENTRY school has been named the best kept in the district.
Falconer’s Hill Infant School won the competition run by Daventry District Council (DDC) for the second year running and was presented with a trophy by Catherine Boardman, environment portfolio holder at DDC, at a ceremony at the council’s Lodge Road offices last Tuesday.

Headteacher Coleen Wilkins said: “We are delighted to receive the award and the school is particularly pleased all the hard work has paid off.”

Emma Yoxen, environmental cleansing officer for DDC, said: “The best kept school competition awards outstanding schools who make commitments to help the environment. A number of areas are looked at from the amount of litter to new initiatives.”

Third place was shared by St James Infant School in Daventry and Barby Primary School.
